Truths: Prologue revised

Major revision time. I got some excellent feedback from the EQD pre-readers, and have rolled it into the story.

A few questions form my followers, whoever is interested in reading.

1) is this too sad? I was having a hard time writing it. if it is, any suggestions on how to tone it back?

2) Does Luna's train of reasoning make sense?

3) Any glaring errors in characterization?
